Candidate Statement Larry D. Cohn Orange Unified School District Trustee Our school district finances need a common sense, conservative, businesslike approach. With a solid financial foundation we can continue to meet the goal of quality education in clean, safe classrooms, with the best teachers available. As a husband and father of four children (two attended Orange Schools and my 15-year-old sophomore attends El Modena High), I care about what happens to our schools! For 14 years, I have coached and raised funds for the local soccer club, coached at and led the Villa Park NJB, served on the Technology Committee at Villa Park High School and participated on the Santiago Charter Middle School Site Council. I have chaired Orange Unified's School District Legislative Coalition and led two successful trips to Sacramento, to inform the Legislator's and Governor's offices what is needed to improve our local schools. I am currently on The Santiago Middle School Charter Board, helping direct this charter school through its first fully independent year. My pledge to the voters and taxpayers is simple and direct; I will work hard to ensure that our District continues to become one of the best in California.
